Where You Are and Where You Can never Be

This installation consisted of photographs and video of beams of sunlight from small skylights in the museum’s gallery along with video and digitally manipulated photographs of western skies. The photographs have been manipulated so their values are reversed to negative, while retaining their original color, giving light substance and materializing specific light conditions. The videos showed phenomena in the sky and light in the gallery, each changing at a barely perceptible rate. The photographs, slowly moving videos and the ever-changing ambient light activated the full space of the gallery, slowing time and creating a heightened sense of awareness.
