Hello, thank you for visiting my private sale to raise funds to help pay for production costs for my forthcoming book, “The Sierra”.
I’ve gone to the Sierra Nevada mountains most years of my life, so this a project with deep personal roots. I’ve been working on it for over six years at this point. I am really excited to finally get to share it with the world.
I’ve been fortunate to have this project supported by a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Speranza Foundation Fellowship, amongst others, but I do still need to secure enough funding to cover the cost of producing this book. The hiphop group Blakroc said, “If it don’t make dollaz, it don’t make sense.” In this light, art books make no sense at all. For most art books not published by a museum or other institution, it is incumbent on the artist to front the cost for design, printing, binding, etc. And for nicely made books this is not inexpensive! To help cover these costs, I am offering certain prints at 1/2 off their normal gallery retail price to friends, past supporters, and people referred by someone close to me. All proceeds from these sales will go towards printing and other production costs for “The Sierra”.
All prints are made, signed and numbered by me. Prints are archival pigment prints on a Japanese bamboo paper, and are made in editions of 3. Prints are sold unframed, though I am happy to arrange for framing.
